Online courses and MOOCs have undergone a significant and undisputed breakthrough in the last few years, being advertised as the most advanced learning style that cater to one’s needs and time, where you study from literally anywhere, and where the materials are suited to you and you only. But the quantity is a far cry from quality. What gives them away?

I recently changed my job, replacing teaching English with software engineering. Knowing I studied in the field of social sciences, and with a significant work experience in the very same field, delving into an area diametrically opposite to it was not an easy feat – yet, I did it.

No matter how uneventful last year may seem at first glance, there were still events, people, and milestones that marked 2021 as a year of many firsts, many new and unexpected events or actions I would never have thought possible. I want to dwell on them here and now, to reflect on how they influenced me, and maybe even see what I should or could work on in the future.
